Steel Buckler with Scalloped Edges

Bucklers were used for centuries in Medieval and Renaissance combat as a form of both offense and defense.  This buckler was made for a client to meet their needs for Renaissance period martial arts.  It features a 14 ga. mild steel boss, 16 ga. mild steel body that has been chemically blackened to reduce the chance of weathering.  The edge is a welded 10 ga. strip, designed to allow for extra durability during fighting.  Measuring 13” in diameter, the whole weighs approximately 1.25 lbs. and features a durable hardwood oak handle designed to reduce shock transference from hits.
